Devotees throng to Shiv Temples to offer prayers
Devotees thronged to Lord Shiva's temple across the country since early morning to perform the rituals.
The Maha Shivratri Festival is being celebrated with full religious fervor across the country. It symbolizes the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati.
Special prayers have been organized at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Mahakaleshwar at Ujjain and the other twelve Jyotirlings.
Administration authorities have arranged heavy security around these temples to maintain order and thwart any potential terror attack.
