Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that the demand for Telangana is 60 years old and this does not mean that new states would be created everywhere.

He was commenting on the comments made by home minister Mr. P. Chidambaram on proposed Telengana state.

Finance Minister said that Mr. Chidambaram only said that there are various stages of creation for a new state and Telengana's case is in preliminary stage.

He said a state must express its views on its proposed reorganisation as President would like to know it before recommending a bill to be considered in Parliament.
