Even in a time of recession Toyota's premium sedan is doing better than expected. Corolla Altis, the latest premium sedan from Toyota Motors has achieved monthly sales of 512 units in February 2009. It registered a growth of 30 per cent in comparison with the same period last year.
Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM said, "Sales of the new 10th generation Corolla Altis have been very satisfying. We have been seeing a year on year growth in spite of a declining market. As the market is gradually picking up, we are likely to see a growth in sales of the Corolla Altis. We believe that the continued success of the model represents the faith our customers have in the Toyota brand."
The all-new Corolla Altis is the 10th generation model launched in India, with an increased focus on passenger comfort and luxury. The Corolla Altis comes in 4 grades: the 1.8 G M/T, the 1.8 G(L) M/T , 1.8 J Executive (MT) and a top-end grade 1.8 V(L) A/T model.
Corolla was launched in India in 2003 and world over more than 30 million units of Toyota Corolla have been sold.
