Congress wins Mahrashtra, Arunachal; Emerges as the single largest party in Haryana

Ruling Congress party has made big gains in all the three state assembly elections. The party has swept Arunachal Pradesh with more than two-third majority in the state assembly. The party has won 41 seats in the 60 seat state assembly. While NCP has won 6, Trinamool Congress bags 4 and BJP got only 2 seats in the assembly.
In Maharashtra, Congress-NCP combine has succeeded in retaining the power for the third consecutive term. The ruling alliance has got 144 seats in 288 seats assembly. The opposition BJP+Shivsena combine has incurred the loss of 30 seats in comparison with the outgoing assembly and it has been reduced to 90 seats - BJP 46 and Shivsena 44 seats.
Raj Thakrey's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has debuted in the assembly election by winning 13 seats.
However, In Haryana there is no clear winner. Ruling Congress has won 40 seats out of total 90 seats in the state assembly. Om Prakash Chautala's INLD has staged a surprising comeback by winning 31 seats. BJP has been reduced to 4 seats while BSP and SAD have won one seat each. Haryana Jantantrik Congress has won 6 seats and others have got 7 seats.
Om Prakash Chautala has said that he would stake the claim to form the government in the state. He claimed that he enjoyed the support of enough independent candidates and opposition parties in the state to form the government.
