Ahead of an important debate in the Lok Sabha on Indo Pak statement at Sherm-el Sheikh, the Congress on Monday came out in open and supported the Prime Minister on the Issue.
Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters outside parliament, the party is confident that the Prime Minister will set at rest all the questions, apprehensions and speculation relating to the joint statement in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The opposition BJP and left have been demanding a discussion on the joint statement issued on the side lines of NAM Summit in Egypt.
An NDA delegation led by the leader of the opposition, Mr L K Advani is meeting the President on Tuesday to register its protest on the joint statement. BJP has alleged that the government has diluted its stand on dealing with terrorism after delinking resumption of dialogue and action against terror infrastructure by Islamabad.
