Central Bank net Q3 profit jumps 32 % to Rs. 404 Crore

32% jump in Q3 profit: S. Sridhar
Public sector lender Central Bank of India reported a 31.68 % increase in its net profit to Rs. 403.52 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 on Monday.
The bank had a net profit of Rs. 306.44 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Central Bank of India's total income also registered a growth of 19.65 % to Rs. 4,182.59 crore in the third quarter if this fiscal, as compared to 3,495.42 crore in the same quarter a year ago, it said in a filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The interest earned by the bank also expanded 25.6 % in the third quarter to Rs. 3,933.06 crore, as against Rs. 3,131.30 crore in the year-ago period.
The bank's shares were trading at Rs. 172.30, up 3.02 % from their previous close on the BSE.
