Canara Bank's Q3 net up by 5 % to Rs. 1,106 crore

Q3 Profit up by 5%: S Raman
Public sector lender Canara Bank reported a jump of 5.05 % in its net profit at Rs. 1,105.73 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2010 on Monday. Bank's net profit in October-December 2009-10 quarter was Rs. 1,052.58 crore.

In a Bombay Stock Exchange filing, the bank said its total income in the third quarter of the fiscal was Rs. 6,444.55 crore, up from Rs. 5,469.10 crore in the corresponding period of 2009-10.

In the nine months period of the current fiscal, the bank reported a net profit of Rs. 3,126.98 crore, while it was Rs. 2,518.43 crore during April-December 2009-10.

The total income during the three-quarters ending December 2010 was Rs. 18,416.46 crore. Shares of Canara Bank were trading at Rs. 588, up 4.55 % over previous close on the BSE.
