CBI filed 1156 Corruption Cases against Govt servants in 2010

150 cases filed in Maharashtra alone
Govt. informed Loksabha on Wednesday that it's premier anti corruption agency Central Bureau of Investigation is taking effective steps to curb corruption in government.
It informed that the CBI registered 1156 cases agaisnt government servants and PSU employees in first 10 months of 2010. These cases relate to corruption and misappropriation of Government funds, including 150 cases in Maharashtra.
Govt. said that charge sheets have been filed in 526 cases and 60 cases have been closed after investigation.
However, investigation was still underway in 570 cases till the end of October 2011.
This information was given by Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Prime Minister's Office, V. Narayanasamy in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
