CBI announces reward of one lakh each on 3 persons in connection with Gyaneshwari derailment

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday announced a reward of one lakh rupees each to any one who provides information on three absconding accused in the Gyaneshwari train derailment case.

The accident killed over 140 people and left several others injured. CBI spokesperson, Harsh Bhal told the media that the accused have been identified as Umakant Mahto, Manoj and Asit Mahto.

CBI has also released their photographs and appealed to people to help the agency to nab them.

Their pictures will be displayed at prominent places for seeking information about the absconding accused.

CBI has also constituted a Joint Investigation Team to look into the professional investigation of the accident on 28th of last month. The investigation involves close coordination and cooperation between several organizations, agencies and individuals.

The JIT will comprise the officers from State Police, Railway Protection Force, Railway Board and Forensic Experts in addition to CBI officers for the investigation.
