Govt is ready to discuss all issues: Prime Minister
President Pratibha Patil will address the joint sitting of the two houses on Monday. Her address will outline government's plans and policies on key issues.

Main opposition party BJP has demanded a discussion on the issue price rise on the first working day of the session – February 23 in both the houses.

The Left and some other parties, including two key partners of the UPA - the DMK and the Trinamool Congress have also demanded a discussion on the issue at the earliest.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said that if the government agrees to a debate on the issue on the first working day then there would be no disruptions in the House.

The CPI has said that the Left would move an adjournment motion, if its demand for discussion on the issue is not met.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has already said that the government is discuss all the issues including price rise and foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan.

BJP is expected to take up the issue of internal security, terrorism and implementation of reservation to minorities on the basis of Ranganath Mishra Commission report.

BJP is also likely to vehemently oppose the government’s move to grant autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir and also on the state governments proposal for giving a chance to Kashmiri militants.

The railway budget will be presented on February 24 and the general budget on 26th of this month.

The session is likely to conclude on May 7.
