Barack Obama-Manmohan to discuss Af-Pak, Terrorism and Climate Change

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has reached in Washington on a 4-day visit. Dr. Manmohan Singh has a hectic schedule during his stay in Washington during which a number of agreements are likely to be signed between the two countries. The proposed agreements relate to countering terrorism and promoting business between the two countries.
He will start the visit by addressing US Chamber of Commerce and United States International Business Council (USIBC) on Tuesday.
The most significant part of the Prime Minister's trip to the US will be his one-on-one meeting with the President Barack Obama on Tuesday. For the first time they will discuss bilateral issues and possibilities of cooperation on key global issues including Pakistan, Afghanistan, terrorism, climate change and nuclear proliferation.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that he expects more liberal technology transfer regime and an early implementation of the Indo-US nuclear deal. Dr Singh is the first foreign dignitary being hosted by Presidnet Barack Obama and it reflects the importance being given by the Obama Administration to India.
Welcoming the State Visit of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the US Senate today passed a unanimous resolution saying that India and the United States can together make enormous contributions in addressing the challenges of the 21st century.
He was received by Indian Ambassador to US Meera Shankar and other officials.
