BJP will rise from ashes: RSS

The RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed the confidence that crisis ridden Bharatiya Janata Party will rise from the ashes. He said the BJP is perfectly capable of overcoming its problems and refused to interfere in its affairs.

Speaking at crowded press conference in New Delhi on Saturday, he said it is for the BJP to decide on the leadership issue. He also spoke in favour of generational change in the party.

Talking about infighting in the BJP he said, "We have told them. Whatever is happening has to stop. No body likes this. But they have to do it. It’s their job to develop system and procedure."

In an important statement he said, RSS respects Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Jawahar Lal Nehru for their service to the nation.

However, he clarified that RSS believes that Jinnhah was responsible for division of India and everybody knows RSS views in this regard.

He refused to comment Arun Shourie's remarks that BJP is like 'Kati Patang' (Kite without strings).

He reiterated RSS commitments to construction of 'Glorious Ram Temple' in Ayodhaya.

Senior BJP leaders - Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Ananth Kumar and Venkaiah Naidu met Mr Bhagwat late in the evening.

After holding discussions with him for almost two hours, they drove to the residence of the leader of the opposition Mr L.K Advani. Mr Venkaiah later dismissed the speculation that the succession issue was discussed.
