BECIL Presents Dividend Cheque to Government of India

The Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Ambika Soni received a Dividend cheque of Rs.28,61,000 (Rupees Twenty Eight Lakhs Sixty One Thousand Only) from Harkesh Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd. (BECIL) for the Financial Year ending 31st March 2010.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister complimented the organization for the role it played in facilitating the setting up of the Main Press Centre and press operations for Press Information Bureau and Broadcast compounds and presentation studios for Doordarshan during the Commonwealth Games 2010 at New Delhi.

In view of these achievements, the Minister reiterated that the organization would have to strive to achieve higher goals and deliverables as a consultancy firm and turnkey solution provider in the future.

As a consultancy firm, BECIL has facilitated the Government of India in the restoration of Information Setup in Afghanistan consisting of Radio, Television and Print Media. It has also established the State of Art Electronic Media Monitoring Centre for Ministry of I&B.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has authorized BECIL for conducting technical audit of Conditional Access System (CAS) and Subscriber Management Systems (SMS) of Multi System Operators (MSOs) and issue certificate.

BECIL is a premier consultancy and turnkey solution provider in the specialized field of broadcast engineering. It has many firsts to its credit like establishment of first teleport in India, first to establish all digital private FM broadcasting station at Bangalore, first to set-up multi channel FM transmission stations in India combining up to 7 FM channels, first to design and establish HDTV studio set-up for Presidential Secretariat and Lok Sabha TV, to name a few.

In the current year some of the key projects being executed by the Company are:

• SITC of Super Power 1000 kW MW Transmitter to All India Radio Rajkot & Chinsurah for external services of AIR to the neighbouring countries.

• Establishment of TV Studios for Bangladesh TV.

• Consultancy services for establishment of a TV News Channel in Africa.

• Upgradation of TV Studio for Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

• Establishment of EDUSAT Studios for Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC).

• FM & TV Studios for National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)

• SITC of Communication Equipment for Antrix.
