SBI officer arrested for taking bribe
|
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday has arrested a deputy manager (Small and Medium Enterprises Cash Credit Centre), State Bank of India, Main Branch, Patna for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant.
The complainant, a resident of Kankarbagh, Patna had applied for a loan of Rs.25,00,000 (Rs. twenty five lakhs) for installation of Rice Polishing Plant under Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Program (PMEGP).
The arrested bank officer allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs.1.20 lakhs from the complainant for favourably processing the loan and the matter was negotiated through a middleman for Rs.30,000 as first installment of bribe.
CBI said in a statement that the complainant approached the agency. CBI laid a trap and the accused was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant.
The accused was produced before the designated dourt at Patna and remanded to Judicial Custody.
