26/11 trial court terminates the services of Kasab's lawyer Abbas Kazmi

In a surprising development a special court hearing the trial of 26/11 case has terminated the services of Abbas Kazmi on Monday who was appointed by the court to defend the only terrorist captured alive - Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab.
The court cited non cooperation as the main reason behind its decision.
The court orederd termination of his service after Abbas Kazmi refused to consider the court's suggestion to pick out 71 witnesses out of total 340 for cross examination. These witnesses belong to category first and include claimants of the deceased, punch witnesses and doctors etc.
Special Judge M. L. Tahiliyani, who is hearing the case, had asked Abbas Kazmi that how many witnessed he would like to cross examine from the first category of 71 witnesses.
However, Abbas Kazmi insisted that he would like to examing all the witnesses in the case and refused to consider the court's suggestion.
Just last week Abbas Kazmi was censured by the court for lying to the court. After that Mr. Kazmi tendred an unconditional apology to the court.
After Abbas Kazmi' unconditional apology the judge withdrew his observation that he was lying to the court. Abbas Kazmi has invited the wrath of the court for his remark that he did not care about the affedavits of witnesses filed by public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.
