SP MPs disrupt Rajya Sabha demanding timely release of funds to UP

Samajwadi Party MPs disrupted the Rajya Sabha proceedings.

Samajwadi Party forced repeated adjournments of Rajya Sabha alleging discrimination by the Centre in releasing funds for Uttar Pradesh.

SP members trooped into the Well of the House demanding an assurance from the Centre that it would release the share of Uttar Pradesh shortly.

JD(U) members too trooped into the Well charging Centre with not implementing the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana (crop insurance scheme) in flood-hit Bihar.

All pleas by Chairman Hamid Ansari to allow the Question Hour went unheeded as SP members continued to raise slogans.

Asking the members not to raise slogans, Hamid Ansari then adjourned the House till 2 PM, the fourth time on Thursday.
